You can choose your own notification sound for each contact.
Tap on a contact in an email or in the contacts screen.
In the contact summary screen, tap on 'Notification sound' and then you can choose a sound to play for that contact.
You can also choose to not play a sound by choosing 'None'. Choose 'Default' to go back to using the app default notification sound. View
