Configuration
T
he WePrint software will usually configure itself, but you may have to change some settings.

WePrint software uses a “Server port” to configure a connection for the “Print & Share” iPhone application. A server port is much like the room number in a hotel. All the port numbers are in the same computer, but point to different applications.

By default, the print server use port 8080. If this number is in use by some other application, you may need to change it. Open the preferences and select the “Use custom server port number” option. A field will appear which you can type a new port number in - try using 8081 or 8082.

You can store files & documents in the “Files” section of “Print & Share” for later use. These file can be saved from photos, emails, or moved from your computer directly as a shared network drive, or via the WePrint server software, or from iDisk/WebDAV

We have two methods of connection available - you can either mount your iPhone as a disk and drag you files or import/export files via WePrint

Method 1
WePrint has a setting to share a selected directory on your desktop/laptop with the “Print n Share" application. The default folder is on your Desktop called "WePrint Files", any documents & files you place in there will be available to import to your iPhone/iPod. You can change the folder buy going to WePrint settings -> Sharing -> Choose.
In the Files screen, you can click the add button at the bottom of the screen and then “Import” and select a WePrint server (or iDIsk/WebDAV)in the next screen. Select one or more of the available files and press the “Save” button to save the selected files to your Files screen.

Method 2
This method doesn't require any software to be installed on your computer.
To mount your iPhone/iPod as a disk you need to ensure Wifi is on and you are on the same network as your Mac/PC. For a full step by step guide click here for Mac or click here for Windows

Select one or more files from your Files screen and click Print to be taken to the print summary screen.

Files and Folders can be view by double tapping them, or by selecting one or more files and pressing the View button

Folders can be created by pressing the add button at the bottom of the screen and selecting “New folder”. You can drag files and folders by touching their icons and then dragging them to folders. You can also press the Move button to move any selected files or folders to other folders.

To add a new account, press + at the top of the email account screen and select an email account type from the list.

If your email account type is not in the list, use the “Other” type and proceed to the edit account screen.

Enter your User Name and Password as you would on the web page for your Exchange login. Sometimes the login address changes from the first address you type in. You may need to use the last address shown in your browser when the login screen appears.

You can access Yahoo email either via the Yahoo Premium account subscription or through the Yahoo Classic account type.
If you are using the Yahoo Classic email account type, then you will need to make sure your web based email layout is in the “Classic” mode.

Press the “Test” button to test your new settings.

You can filter your IMAP/OWA emails by age by using the field in the advanced section. This will allow you to only view emails in the last week, or month etc.

Pressing the “Accounts” button in the top left of the screen will take you back to the Accounts screen where you can click on the new account to see the emails. Press the Refresh button to get the latest list of emails. You can also set the auto-refresh setting in the application preferences.

If there is only one printer, that one will be selected by default and you won't have to choose.

If “Print & Share” doesn't find a print server, you can enter the server details yourself. The “Add Server” screen allows you to enter the server address and server port values. These are displayed in the window of your Print Server software. The name field is optional. Press “Connect” to test the connection. If there is an error connecting, see the troubleshooting section below.

How to setup "Print via Proxy" - Print remotely over 3G
Print via Proxy will allow you to print via an email or WebDAV server so you don't need direct network access between your iPhone and your WePrint computer.

We strongly recommend you set up a new Gmail account in the WePrint settings. You can use another email account but it is much easier to create a Gmail account and use the default settings. Make sure you don't use this gmail account in any other email application or the WePrint emails may be removed.

On the iPhone, when you get the Print screen, press the blue arrow beside the printer name and then press the “Add Server” button. Press the “Print via Proxy” tab and enter the same email account as WePrint. Press “Save” to save the settings.

If you have an office network with a firewall that blocks email server access, you could use iDisk or another WebDAV server such as http://box.net

Tap on the "Type" field in the Print via Proxy tab on the iPhone, or select the type drop down in the WePrint settings to select iDisk or WebDAV. If you use box.net, the URL is http://box.net/dav

When printing, make sure the "Server" field on the Print screen displays the server name starting with "Proxy:"

WePrint doesn't need to be running to print via proxy, is generally not restricted by firewall's, and can be started later to collect the printed documents, so is great when traveling
